Career Opportunities at Sindh TransKarachi. TransKarachi, the Project Implementation Agency of the Karachi Red Line BRT project, is hiring qualified professionals for the following contractual positions based in Karachi. All appointments will be made on merit through a rigorous and transparent selection process. 1. General Manager Operations – 1 Position
Qualification: Master’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Transport Engineering, or a related field from an HEC-recognized university
Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in senior management, preferably in BRT or mass transit operations
Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of BRT Red Line operations including monitoring, contract services, planning, biogas plant delivery, quality assurance, and reporting

2. Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Specialist – 1 Position
Qualification: Master’s degree in IT, Transport Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; Diploma in ITS programming is a plus
Experience: Minimum 7 years, including 3 years in a leadership role in ITS within mass transit/public transport
Responsibilities: Manage ITS operations such as control centers, CCTV networks, AFC, data collection, and fiber optics connectivity across buses, depots, and terminals

3. Procurement & Contract Manager – 1 Position
Qualification: Master’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; CIPS/MRICS preferred
Experience: 17 years overall, including at least 13 years with ADB/World Bank or other multilateral agency procurement systems
Responsibilities: Lead procurement and contract functions in accordance with ADB regulations for consulting and non-consulting services

4. NMT Infrastructure Officer – 1 Position
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transport Engineering
Experience: At least 3.5 years in planning, designing, and managing NMT (Non-Motorized Transport) infrastructure such as pedestrian paths, bike lanes, and public space facilities
Responsibilities: Implement and oversee infrastructure that supports walking and cycling as part of the BRT system

5. Assistant Manager Occupational Health & Safety – 1 Position
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering; NEBOSH, IGC, or OSHA certification required
Experience: 7 years in OHS, including 5 years on construction or transport sector projects, preferably in IFC/ADB-compliant environments
Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, and develop safety protocols across construction and operational activities
