Career Opportunities at the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM), Islamabad

Latest Department Of Archaeology and Museums Jobs 2025. The Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM), Islamabad, invites applications from qualified Pakistani nationals for the position of Individual Consultants under the PSDP project titled “Establishment of Research & Development (R&D) Center at DOAM to Promote Soft Image of Pakistan through Cultural Heritage.” The details of available positions are as follows:

1. Individual Consultant (Training – Field Archaeology)

  • Qualifications: Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, or a related field from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in government or semi-government organizations, specifically in museology, archaeological explorations, excavations, and organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences. Candidates must have at least 15 research articles published in national or international journals.
  • Age Limit: Up to 65 years.

2. Individual Consultant (World Heritage Sites)

  • Qualifications: Ph.D. in Archaeology, Museology, or a related field from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 15 years of experience in government or semi-government organizations, with relevant expertise in collaboration with UNESCO on world heritage sites. Must have experience in capacity-building training and preparing nomination dossiers for inscription on the World Heritage List. Candidates should also possess experience in creating coffee table books and brochures and must have a minimum of 15 research articles published in national or international journals.
  • Age Limit: Up to 65 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize training programs for capacity building in excavation and artifact preservation techniques.
  • Develop training curriculums for museum education.
  • Conduct workshops and webinars on cultural heritage sites and their importance.
  • Arrange guided tours, cultural caravans, and interactive sessions for students and the general public.
  • Support provincial departments in preparing nomination dossiers for new heritage sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • Design promotional materials such as brochures, leaflets, and pamphlets.
  • Conduct research-oriented activities related to cultural heritage preservation.
  • Develop publications, including coffee table books and other relevant content.
