Financial Analyst – Tax Reform Unit (One Position)

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Economics or a related field from a recognized university. Additional expertise in economic modeling and forecasting, particularly in the area of tax revenue and tax policy, will be highly valued.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, with at least 1 year in economic research involving modeling and forecasting of tax revenues. Experience related to tax administration or tax policy will be considered an advantage.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to conduct economic research
  • Proficiency in mainstream statistical software for data analysis
  • Fluency in Urdu, Sindhi, and English (both spoken and written)
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability in report writing and communication
  • Understanding of tax policy and regulatory frameworks in the province
  • Age should not exceed 35 years
  • Candidates must hold Sindh domicile

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report weekly revenue collection trends from tax agencies with analytical feedback
  • Liaise between provincial tax entities and external researchers or research institutes
  • Provide statistical and analytical support to the Tax Reform Unit (TRU)
  • Stay up to date with international methodologies in tax research
  • Assist in reviewing research reports for quality control
  • Organize and participate in presentations/workshops and record meeting minutes
  • Draft Terms of References (ToRs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for research activities
  • Review and coordinate documentation (e.g., CVs of consultants/firms) for research tasks
  • Prepare periodic reports and perform additional assignments as required by the Tax Management Specialist

Contract and Benefits:
The position is purely contract-based for an initial term of three years, which may be extended for another three years based on satisfactory performance. A competitive, market-based salary package will be offered to the selected candidate.
