HANDS Pakistan – Head Office Position

Drive environmental sustainability and social responsibility through expert oversight and implementation of safeguarding measures.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a dedicated Environmental and Social Safeguarding Specialist to lead impact assessments and implement sustainable practices across our projects.

Core Responsibilities

Environmental Management

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments via Kobo toolbox
  • Complete Environment Screening Forms and Monitoring Checklists
  • Coordinate with District Forest Officers for plantation initiatives
  • Ensure SPHF guidelines compliance in all projects

Social Safeguarding

  • Implement social safeguarding protocols
  • Manage Grievances and Gender Desks
  • Oversee Village Reconstruction Committees
  • Address social GRM per World Bank and SPHF requirements

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Execute Communication and Media strategy
  • Develop IEC materials for reconstruction projects
  • Facilitate internal and external delegations
  • Present E&S conditions to WB, ADB, and ISDB

Training and Development

  • Conduct E&S, GBV, and GRM capacity building sessions
  • Participate in SPHF/ADB/WB/ISDB training programs
  • Guide district field teams on E&S compliance
  • Implement best practices in environmental management

Qualifications Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • Experience: 2-3 years in environmental management
  • Age: 25-30 years
  • Gender: Female
