Job Description:

The Finance Officer for the Implementation Unit (IU) at Nai Zindagi will oversee and manage petty cash expenses while ensuring compliance with organizational guidelines. Responsibilities include verifying expenses, preparing vouchers, reconciling petty cash registers, and providing guidance to staff on appropriate usage. The role requires strong analytical skills to review and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify petty cash expenses to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Confirm expenditures are properly authorized and supported by valid receipts.
  • Ensure petty cash is used appropriately and within established limits.
  • Verify that expenses are correctly classified, accurate, and eligible for reimbursement.
  • Investigate discrepancies between actual cash on hand and documented expenses.
  • Prepare vouchers based on the chart of accounts bi-monthly.
  • Ensure all documents from implementation units are submitted and filed bi-monthly.
  • Guide staff on petty cash usage and receipt submission.
  • Reconcile the petty cash ledger with the petty cash register bi-monthly.
  • Complete checklists for bi-monthly and monthly petty expense verification.
  • Report any irregularities or misuse of petty cash to the manager.
  • Assist in audits by providing relevant records and reconciliations.
  • Ensure petty cash procedures comply with organizational policies and financial regulations.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line Manager/Supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of financial procedures and petty cash management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MBA (Finance), M.Com, or equivalent professional qualification in Accounting and Finance.
