The Government of Sindh is inviting applications from renowned academicians, experienced academic leaders, and dynamic professionals for the position of Vice Chancellor at NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. The ideal candidate must have strong managerial, financial, and leadership skills to enhance the university’s academic and research standards.

Positions with Qualifications

Position: Vice Chancellor – NED University

Appointment Duration: 4 years (extendable for one additional term)
Age Limit: Maximum 62 years

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must meet one of the following requirements:

1. Academic Leadership Track:
   • Must be eligible for a full Professor position.
   • Ph.D. from an HEC-recognized university in a relevant field.
   • Registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
   • 20 years of experience, including 10 years in an administrative, financial, or academic leadership role (Vice Chancellor, Rector, President, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Chairman, Registrar, Principal).
2. Public Sector Cadre Officer Track:
   • BPS-21 or above officer with a Bachelor’s in Engineering and Master’s degree in any discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
3. Research & Management Leadership Track:
   • Master’s degree (preferably Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
   • 15 years of experience in academia, research, civil society, or management leadership.
   • Distinguished research and publication record.

Note:

• If a cadre officer is selected as Vice Chancellor, they must resign or retire from their current service.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhancing quality education and research development.
• Establishing national and international collaborations with industries and renowned institutions.
• Developing a sustainable business model for university operations.
• Gathering and analyzing industry data for research-based policymaking.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
• Understanding of financial management and budgeting mechanisms.
