Headquartered in Karachi, SSGC operates an expansive transmission and distribution network serving over 3.2 million customers across Sindh and Balochistan. About the Role:
As the CEO/Managing Director, you will be the strategic head of SSGC, responsible for driving the company’s operational efficiency, financial growth, corporate transformation, and strategic direction. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this high-impact role requires a dynamic leader with deep industry knowledge, leadership excellence, and a strong grasp of energy sector dynamics—both domestic and global.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the organization’s strategic blueprint for growth and transformation
- Strengthen revenue streams, improve profitability, and drive innovation
- Enhance SSGC’s public image and stakeholder confidence
- Lead organizational reforms and transformation aligned with corporate values
- Oversee implementation of best practices in governance, safety, quality, and risk management
- Inspire and lead high-performance teams across diverse operational verticals
- Ensure strong stakeholder management and maintain compliance with all regulatory frameworks
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate degree in Engineering, Economics, Energy Management, Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Engineering Management or Law from an HEC-recognized institution. Preference will be given to postgraduates.
- At least 20 years of post-qualification experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a C-suite leadership position
- Proven strategic leadership and change management capabilities
- Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an added advantage
- Age limit: Maximum 62 years as of the closing date
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, HSEQA, and public sector dynamics
- Must fulfill the “fit and proper” criteria under SOE governance guidelines
