Position Details
Social Safeguard Specialist
- Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Social Science, Rural Development, or relevant disciplines from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Social Safeguard compliance, social risk assessments, and implementation of social frameworks.
- Proven expertise in social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with national and provincial laws and international standards.
- Hands-on experience working on social safeguard measures, especially concerning vulnerable communities, gender equality, and marginalized groups.
- Strong knowledge of preparing Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMF), and relevant reports.
- Experience conducting community consultations, social surveys, and formulating mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in English and Urdu with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork and organizational abilities.
Job Responsibilities:
The Social Safeguard Specialist will be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with Social Safeguards Policies and frameworks for the SSEP project.
- Conducting risk assessments, social audits, and implementation of mitigation plans.
- Overseeing resettlement planning, stakeholder engagement, and community development programs.
- Monitoring social impacts and ensuring the participation of marginalized and vulnerable groups.
- Providing guidance on social policies, legal frameworks, and ensuring project alignment with national/provincial regulations and international standards.
- Preparing reports, Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), and Social Safeguard Frameworks.
- Working closely with project teams to achieve sustainable project goals.
