Pakistan Railways has announced several job vacancies for retired supervisory staff from the Mechanical Carriage & Wagon Department on a contract basis. These positions are open for individuals who have retired at the age of 60 and are physically fit to continue working in the relevant fields. The initial contract is for one year, extendable based on performance and departmental needs.
Available Positions
The following positions are available for individuals with DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineering) in Mechanical or Middle-level education, along with significant experience in rolling stock maintenance and related fields.

- Number of Vacancies: 2
- Education: DAE/Mechanical
- Experience: 20 years in rolling stock maintenance
- TXR/GR-II (BPS-12)
- Number of Vacancies: 6
- Education: DAE/Mechanical
- Experience: 10 years in the relevant field
- SE-II/Sr. Chargeman (BPS-12)
- Number of Vacancies: 8
- Education: DAE/Mechanical
- Experience: 10 years in the relevant field
- Mistry (BPS-09)
- Number of Vacancies: 4
- Education: Middle
- Experience: 10 years in the relevant field
- Skilled C&W Fitter, Coach Builder & Welder (BPS-06)
- Number of Vacancies: 16
- Education: Middle
- Experience: 10 years in the relevant field
Eligibility Criteria
- Maximum Age Limit: Candidates must be under 62 years of age.
- Only candidates who have previously worked in the specified categories are eligible for these contract positions.
Terms and Conditions for Contract Appointment
- Salary and Benefits: Selected candidates will receive their last drawn salary under pay scales BS-06, BS-09, BS-12, and BS-14, based on their previous positions. No additional benefits such as gratuity or pension will be provided.
- Contract Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on Pakistan Railways’ requirements.
- Selection Process: The competent authority reserves the right to reject any application without providing a reason.
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness exam conducted at the Pakistan Railways Hospital.
- No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowances will be provided for interviews or medical exams.
- Posting: Candidates may be posted anywhere within the Pakistan Railway system.

- Educational certificates
- CNIC (computerized)
- Railway Retired Identity Card or Experience Certificate
- PPO (Pension Payment Order)
- LPC (Last Pay Certificate)
- Service certificate
- Three recent passport-size photographs
- Three postal envelopes with the RAD card and complete address, including the applicant’s cell number
- Experience certificates from renowned organizations (if applicable)
